First combined list of 118 candidates for the AP Assembly elections is released by TDP and Janasena

On Saturday, Janasena leader Pawan Kalyan and TDP chairman N Chandrababu Naidu unveiled their first combined list of 118 candidates for the upcoming Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections.

The chairman of the Jana Sena Party, actor Pawan Kalyan, said on Saturday that his party would only run for 24 assembly seats and three Lok Sabha seats, which disappointed the party’s leaders and workers.

The TDP chairman unveiled the initial list of 94 candidates at a joint news conference at his Undavalli home, while Jana Sena revealed the identities of five candidates. Pawan Kalyan did not, however, disclose his intended place of competing.

The head of the JSP, Pawan Kalyan, has reportedly chosen to limit his party’s involvement to 24 Assembly seats and three Lok Sabha seats, according to TNIE. He made it clear that the main objective is to avoid a split in the vote against the existing administration, and the secondary objective is to increase the success rate.

“Acting constructively, JSP has chosen to fight fewer seats and have a 98% strike rate, rather than experimenting with additional seats. In actuality, we are effectively competing almost 40 seats by running for three Lok Sabha seats. In addition, we have fewer seats now that the BJP has joined the coalition, he added, adding that they might have requested more if they had won at least ten seats in 2019.

Chandrababu Naidu from Kuppam, his son Nara Lokesh from Mangalagiri, K Atchananaidu from Tekkali, N Balakrishna from Hindupur, and JSP Political Affairs Committee Chairman Nadendla Manohar from Tenali are among the 99 candidates named in the first list released by both parties.

Notably, out of the 94 candidates on the TDP roster, 23 fresh faces have been assigned the duty of competing for office, signifying a bold departure from conventional political strategies. 28 applicants with postgraduate degrees, 50 with undergraduate degrees, 3 physicians, 2 Ph.D. holders, and 1 IAS Officer are on the list, according to Naidu. Conversely, he said in jest that traffickers of red sander are on the YSRC list.

After taking into account the views of almost one crore three lakh thirty thousand individuals, the list of candidates was compiled. “TDP-JSP is ready for election war,” said the TDP head. This partnership is for the betterment of Andhra Pradesh and the state.

However, the two leaders said that the BJP’s requirement to be accommodated in the event that the saffron party chooses to join the coalition had been taken into consideration while allocating seats.
