Five committees are formed by the K’taka School Education Dept. to update the social science and kannada textbooks

The Karnataka Department of School Education and Literacy has issued directives to create five committees in order to modify textbooks that will be used as part of the state curriculum for the school year 2023-2024. In accordance with the requirements outlined in the National Curriculum Framework from 2005, these committees will be tasked with revising the Kannada textbooks for the first, second, and third levels of the language, as well as the social science textbooks.

In addition, Dr. Manjunath G. Hegde, a former principal from Kumta in the district of Uttara Kannada, was selected to serve as the main convenor by the government. The Kannada first-language textbooks for classes one through ten will be reviewed by one committee of ten members, headed by Dr. Anjanappa from Tirthahalli in Shivamogga. The Kannada second-language textbooks for classes one through ten will be reviewed by another committee of ten members, chaired by Dr. H S Satyanarayan. Both committees will be led by Dr. Anjanappa.

The revision of Kannada third-language textbooks for classes nine and 10 will be the responsibility of the third committee, which consists of four members and is chaired by Dr. Manjanna. The task of revising the social science textbooks for classes six and seven has been given to a group consisting of seven members and directed by Dr. Kiran M.

The eighth, ninth, and tenth grade social science textbooks are going to be revised by the fifth committee, which is chaired by Dr. Ashwathanarayana.
