Gas leak incident in Visakhapatnam for the second time in 52 days, 2 killed in pharma plant leak

Visakhapatnam. Two people died and four others fell ill after a benzene gas leak at a drug manufacturing company in the nearby city of Paravada. Official sources said that the leak occurred in a unit of ' Saner Life Science Company ' and the situation is now under control. He said that two employees lost their lives in the incident and treatment of the injured continues in a hospital in Gajuwaka. One of them is placed there on a waitilator .

District Magistrate V. Vinay Chand and Commissioner of Police R.K. Meena visited the company to take stock of the situation. The reasons for the gas leak in the reactor unit of the plant are not yet known. The accident took place nearly two months after a gas leak in a chemical plant killed 11 people and caused more than 100 people to fall ill.
