“Ghar Ghar Guarantee”: Congress makes 25 promises in 5 categories

NEW DELHI: The Congress Working Committee approved the party’s draft manifesto on Tuesday, which highlights the party’s 25 “Nyay” promises to five key demographies. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge expressed confidence that the country is fervently looking for change and that the governing BJP’s campaign centred around Modi’s promises would meet the same fate as the India Shining of 2004.

The party intends to release a second manifesto in which it asserts that the ruling BJP has appropriated the independence of constitutional structures and enforcement authorities in order to attack the opposition.
Congress will launch a month-long campaign, coinciding with the elections, to bring the “guarantees” that Rahul Gandhi made public during his recently finished Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra down to the home level. This would entail distributing “guarantee cards” to families and showcasing them at conventions. The CWC ruling was based on the belief held by party officials that social justice pledges, such as the abolition of the 50% quota limit and caste census, have credibility since Congress has complied with the “guarantees” made in the votes conducted in Telangana and Karnataka. These pledges were made to youth, women, workers, farmers, and others.
During a briefing about the CWC deliberations, AICC leaders KC Venugopal and Jairam Ramesh said, “This is ‘nyay patra’ to rid the country of ‘anyay kaal.'” Rahul Gandhi used the term “guarantee” during the Karnataka elections, and Modi is now using it. However, he is being questioned about the assurances he made a decade ago. Nobody takes his promises seriously; they are falsehoods. Unlike Modi, we are offering the Congress party’s guarantee, not just one for ourselves. “It’s a ghar ghar guarantee,” Ramesh said, taking aim at the BJP’s catchphrase that centres on the prime minister.
The chief of the manifesto panel, P Chidambaram, reportedly briefed the CWC on the draft document’s 10 headings, according to sources. Members believed that the “guarantees” had gained people’s confidence in Telangana and Karnataka, and the party neededed to make sure that even the lowest voter rung was informed about them. Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Ajay Maken, and the chief ministers Sukhwinder Sukhu and Revanth Reddy were present.
Kharge said, “The nation is fervently demanding a change” in his speech. The promises made by the current administration will suffer the same fate as the 2004 slogan “India Shining.”

Congress’s manifesto has been seen as a “document of trust and commitment” since 1926, he said.
Congress has pledged to carry out the Sachar panel’s recommendations for the welfare of Muslims, the Prevention of Atrocities Act, giving Ladakh the 6th Schedule status, and restoring J&K to its original status, among other things. According to sources, party members from the North-East urged at the CWC meeting that the party commit to extending certain specific constitutional protections to Arunachal Pradesh and to some areas of conflict-ridden Manipur.
