Google Maps representatives and Noida Police meet to discuss traffic plans for the G20 and MotoGP events

In preparation for forthcoming large events including the G20 Summit, Moto GP, and the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show, the Noida Traffic Police met with Google Maps representatives from India on Tuesday to evaluate traffic planning.

In order to minimize inconvenience for the general public in Noida and Greater Noida in the Gautam Buddh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, it was agreed at the discussion how the traffic would be handled and warnings provided during the activities.

It further claimed that it had been decided to specifically map tourist attractions, busy parking lots, and hospitals on Google Maps.

In accordance with the direction of Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, the meeting was convened in the traffic police’s headquarters in Sector 14A. According to the statement, Kanwardeep Singh and Jitendra from Google Maps attended the meeting, which was presided over by DCP (Traffic) Anil Yadav.

“To ensure that there are no traffic issues for the general public during these significant and worldwide programs, a thorough discussion was conducted about the diversions and traffic advisories to be issued during the G-20, the Moto GP 2023, and the UP worldwide Trade Show 2023 events. The traffic system should continue to run as smoothly as feasible at the same time. Important recommendations were made for this on all fronts, according to the statement.

According to the police, assistance has also been requested from those who enter Gautam Buddh Nagar’s boundaries, and incident reports of the city’s traffic system for the previous month have been generated. This is so that better traffic arrangements can be made during these programs and the public is inconvenienced as little as possible.

“The Google Map team will display live traffic as well as usual (typical) traffic on the map. All significant detours would also be shown on the map in addition to this, it said.

Places of interest, significant parking areas, such as the North Zone, West Zone, South Zone, and East Zone of the venue (Buddha International Circuit), and significant hospitals are also mapped on Google Map, the statement said.

According to the police, a plan is also being created for how incoming and leaving traffic will be directed and redirected in various locations during the event.

Following a discussion with Apple Map and Map My India app representatives, a similar traffic strategy will shortly be devised in this order. The police stated that this would allow for the creation of more convenient transit plans for the general population.
