Govt college official charged with harassing assistant professor in a sexual manner

Today, Police Division 8 filed a complaint against the SCD Government College junior assistant, alleging that she was insulted and subjected to sexual harassment by the assistant professor.

Neeraj Dutt has been named as the suspect.

He was the subject of a complaint filed under the Indian Penal Code’s Sections 354 A (sexual harassment) and 509 (word, gesture, or act designed to offend the modesty of lady).

The complainant, who also serves as the deputy registrar for examinations, informed the police that Neeraj Dutt, junior assistant at SCD Government College, had been posting to the same seat at the college for the previous 25 years and had been fostering an oppressive environment there for a long time.

“The suspect meddles in all of the college’s operations. He uses derogatory words and a menacing tone with college staff members, yet no one speaks up against him. My senior scale issue has been waiting since 2013, despite my repeated requests to the college administration. Dutt, the person handling the case, has purposefully kept it lingering. The complainant said, “When I spoke to him in December of last year, he used vulgar language and made baseless accusations against me that I, as a woman, cannot bear.”
