Heavy Traffic Jams On Delhi-Noida Roads Because Of Farmers’ Protest | Avoid These Routes

Following a demonstration held by farmers in Noida and Greater Noida, long traffic jams were seen on the routes leading from Delhi to Noida on Thursday afternoon.

The boundaries separating Delhi from Uttar Pradesh and Delhi from Haryana were marked with pickets and barriers.

As the farmers attempted to approach the national capital, there were reports of massive traffic jams on Delhi-Noida routes from Mayur Vihar Extension to Mayamaya flyover, New Ashok Nagar to Botanical Garden, and DND flyway, causing drivers to wait for hours to get through congestion.

In Noida, farmers were being halted by police as they marched towards Parliament. They are demonstrating in support of their requests, which include higher pay.

The Gautam Buddh Nagar district is also subject to CrPC section 144, which forbids gatherings of four or more individuals.

At the border, a senior Delhi Police official said that while traffic is permitted, the route may be fully shut if necessary. “Hopefully, they won’t enter Delhi as the Uttar Pradesh Police is currently dealing with them,” he said.

At Sarita Vihar, a number of two- and four-wheelers got caught in a traffic bottleneck, clogging long lines of cars. Since this is the only path that will get me to the highway, I am traveling to Agra and am unable to modify my course at this time. The traffic is moving quite slowly, so it’s unclear how long it will take,” driver Raj Sharma remarked.

There was also a severe traffic bottleneck on the Delhi-Noida route, according to authorities. Amidst the farmer demonstrations, authorities have increased security in the nation’s capital, particularly along the Delhi-Uttar Pradesh border, they said.

Growers Gave Up Near the Mahamaya Flyover

The Delhi-Noida border was heavily guarded by police. In case farmers arrived, heavy-duty bulldozers, backhoe machines, Vikraant logistic trucks, riot control vehicles, and water cannons were positioned in a strategic manner to handle any scenario.

The Uttar Pradesh Police stopped over 150 farmers close to the Mahamaya flyover in Noida, according to authorities. Commuters were told to steer clear of certain routes, and other traffic arrangements were put in place.

Significant security measures have been implemented at several border entrance locations inside the national capital. Nobody will be permitted to disobey the law, according to a senior police official. According to a different police official, paramilitary and heavy security troops have already been sent in to uphold law and order.

He said that barriers and pickets had been erected at the borders between Delhi and Haryana and Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
