In a home fire, two sisters choke to death

In the Sadar Bazar neighborhood of north Delhi on Tuesday, a residential structure caught fire and killed two sisters via suffocation. The females, named Anaya (12) and Gulashna (14) were confined to the restroom.

Manoj Kumar Meena, the deputy commissioner of police for the North district, stated: “At around 2:00 pm, officers at the Sadar Bazar police station got a call about the fire and hurried to the scene. When they arrived, they saw that a home on Chameliyan Road in Sadar Bazar was completely destroyed by fire. When four fire fighters came, the fire was put out.

“Thick smoke filled the entire building as it had a central air conditioning system,” a senior Delhi Fire Services officer said. Smoke was trapped in the building by the glass windows and inadequate ventilation. To enter, the cops had to put on gas masks.

According to him, the fire started in the music system and quickly spread to other electrical devices and wooden objects in the home.

Upon seeing the flames, the girls sought refuge in one of their house’s bathrooms.

In order to conduct the search inside the structure, firefighters were had to don gas masks. The bathroom door needed to be broken open. The official said that the girls were taken to the hospital after being discovered unresponsive.

Police said the sisters were pronounced dead at the hospital.

The girls had returned from school in the afternoon and were sleeping when the fire started, according to a friend of the victims’ family. When the tragedy occurred, their mother and aunt were also at home, but they were saved in time. He added that his siblings and their businessman father had left.
