In Chhattisgarh, a lightning strike killed two girls

According to officials, two girls were murdered in the Chhattisgarh district of Kondagaon after being hit by lightning.
The event happened on Saturday in the Chilputi hamlet, within the boundaries of the Kondagaon police station, when the victims, Radha Markam and Monika Nag, both 10 years old, went to gather tamarind fruits, a police officer in this city stated.
He said that lightning hit when the two were busy gathering tamarind on the outskirts of the hamlet and caused major burn injuries.
After being notified about the occurrence, their families and locals summoned an ambulance and carried them to the district hospital where the girls were certified dead, he said, adding that the remains were subsequently transferred for autopsy.
According to him, an accidental death report (ADR) was filed in this regard.
