Sanjay Singh, a Rajya Sabha member for the Aam Aadmi Party, was detained on Wednesday by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy Case, according to sources.
After conducting searches at his home earlier that day in connection with the investigation, the agents did this now.
The authorities said that during the operation, locations belonging to several other people involved in the investigation were also covered.
The 51-year-old Rajya Sabha MP’s employees and individuals connected to him have already been questioned by the ED.
The AAP has strenuously denied the claim that the Delhi government’s excise policy for 2021–2022, which granted licenses to liquor merchants, promoted cartelization and favored those dealers who had reportedly paid bribes for it.
The policy was soon abandoned, and the lieutenant governor of Delhi suggested a CBI investigation. The ED then filed a complaint under the PMLA.
