In Jammu and Kashmir, an IAS officer claims that LG has harassed him. Manoj Sinha Accused the Administration of Being ‘Dalit’

A top official in Jammu and Kashmir claims that since they are Dalits, the government in the Union Territory, headed by LG Manoj Sinha, has harassed them.

According to sources, principal secretary Ashok Parmar, who has been relocated five times in the last year, claims there is a plot against him.

According to the sources, the opposition has sought a fair investigation into the accusations.

According to the allegations, Parmar, a 1992 IAS officer from Gujarat, has complained to the National Commission for Scheduled Castes about harassment, threats, and intimidation by the J&K government after he exposed significant discrepancies in the Jal Shakti department.

According to them, the officer has also filed a letter about the issue to the Union Home Secretary.

According to the sources, Parmar is concerned that the government would wrongly accuse him.

Parmar claims in the letters that he was humiliated in front of other officers and booted out of two important meetings.

In March 2022, Parmar, who was on central deputation, was returned to the AGMUT cadre.

He was then appointed senior secretary for irrigation and flood control.

He was reportedly moved and assigned to the Jal Shakti department on May 5,2022.

According to Parmar, he was moved within months to the department of ARI and trainings when he exposed frauds in the department.

“He was sent to skill development on July 18. On August 1, less than two weeks later, he was once again moved and appointed head of the Bureau of Public Enterprises J&K.
According to the report, Parmar broke tradition while serving as principal secretary for ARI (administrative reforms, Inspection, and Trainings) by beginning to visit other regions and opening investigations into numerous departments.

“In J&K, allegations of high-level corruption have now been supported by evidence. An IAS official taking great risks by exposing them by confirming the rot in the system at the highest top. Mehbooba Mufti, the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, said on X, “An honest official is forced to suffer instead of pursuing those guilty for the mismanagement of Rs 3,000 crore in the Jal Jeevan project.

Omar Abdullah, another former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, has called for a fair investigation.

“We realize that would never happen, but the charges are severe enough to deserve an unbiased examination. Sadly, this issue has received little attention from the media. They are kept too occupied following Ms. World and other make-believe tales. What was once a thriving free(ish?) press in J&K has been successfully muted by the allure of advertising dollars and the dread of police station summonses, according to Abdullah.
