In Karnataka, a pastor was detained on suspicion of sexually assaulting a little girl

Police said on Friday that a 49-year-old pastor had been detained for allegedly sexually abusing a young girl who was enrolled at a church-affiliated pre-university institution.

According to Section 3 of the POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act, 2012) and Sections 8 and 12 of the SC & ST (Prevention of Atrocities Act), 2016, a case has been opened at the “Kote” (fort) police station at this location, according to Balaraju, the deputy superintendent of police for the Shivamogga district.

The pastor, who is also the college’s principal and is from the same area, is now being held in judicial custody, according to Balaraju.
