In Madhya Pradesh, a medical student commits suicide

In Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh, a 20-year-old medical student reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself in her dormitory room, according to authorities.

Unknown at this time, an official said, is the motivation for the drastic action.

According to Kotwali police station in-charge Ashutosh Singh, Aruna Awase, a second-year MBBS student at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Medical College, reportedly hung herself on a fan in her dorm room on Saturday night.

He said that the encounter happened when her roommate was absent, studying at a library.

According to the official, when her roommate came back, she heard loud music coming from the room and attempted to open the door.

When she reported the situation to the dormitory warden and received no answer, he smashed down the door and discovered the student hanging, according to him.

According to him, no suicide note has been discovered, thus there is currently no explanation for the drastic action.

The official said that the post-mortem will be performed on Sunday and that an investigation into the event is ongoing.
