In the first two hours, Andhra Pradesh had a 9.05 percent turnout

Amaravati, 13 May During the first two hours of voting on Monday, just more than nine percent of ballots were cast in Andhra Pradesh for the 25 Lok Sabha seats and the 175 state Assembly seats that were up for election simultaneously.

The Election Commission reports that up until nine in the morning, 9.05 percent of the Lok Sabha seats have polled. In the Assembly elections, 9.21% of voters participated.

There are 46,389 polling locations where more than 4.14 crore people may cast their ballots. They will determine 2,841 contenders’ political futures.

169 Assembly segments will continue to poll until six o’clock at night. The polling will end at 4 p.m. in the Left-Wing Extremist (LWE)-affected segments of Araku, Paderu, and Rampachodavaram and at 5 p.m. in the remaining 3 LWE-affected segments of Palakonda, Kurupam, and Salur.

The state’s polling percentage in the 2019 elections was 79.84 percent. 2,387 candidates are vying for 175 Assembly seats, including actor Pawan Kalyan, former chief minister and head of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, and leader of the Jana Sena.

There are 454 contenders running for the Lok Sabha. The most well-known among them are former chief minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, state Congress president Y.S. Sharmila Reddy, and former union minister D. Purandeswari.
