In Uri, the “India selfie point” along the Line of Control attracts a lot of tourists

According to authorities, a selfie spot close to the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir has grown to be a popular tourist destination because it gives visitors a panoramic view of the Jhelum River and the captivating beauty of Uri’s isolated border area.

According to them, the INDIA selfie spot offers guests a stimulating setting that embodies the region’s spirit of nationality.

The LoC’s “Kaman Setu,” or zero-point, was made accessible to visitors by the Army last year. This year, around Republic Day, the selfie spot was made available to the general public.

Rouble Nagi, an artist and the creator of RNAF, is the person behind the selfie point. According to the authorities, the building’s strategic placement along National Highway-44 and its panoramic view of the scenic Jhelum River would boost both the people’s and visitors’ sense of pride.

The Nagi Foundation, renowned for its initiatives promoting women’s empowerment, was commended by the Army. Her gift of the building is evidence of the growing nationalism in the Valley. The Army said that the selfie point was designed to provide a distinctively engaging setting for both individuals and groups.

According to Nagi, her art piece that sculpts the name of the country is a memorial to the sacrifices made by many facets of society for the independence of the nation.

“Creating work that bears the name of my country makes me feel better than anything else. Being the daughter of a former army officer, Nagi expressed her pride at having her sculpture #INDIA installed in Uri, a remote border location.

“We are very fortunate to be free. She urged people to visit Uri and added, “Our children need to know the sacrifices that were made by so many to protect the freedom we enjoy today.”

In Kashmir, Nagi has played a major role in creating selfie spots, which include ones near Dal Lake, Rajbagh, and the recently renovated Polo View Market.
