In Warangal, Telangana, a lorry collides with an autorickshaw, leaving five people dead

In the Warangal district of Telangana on Wednesday, a lorry allegedly driven by an intoxicated man struck an auto-rickshaw the victims were riding in from the other way, resulting in five fatalities and two injuries, according to the police.

Around 7.30 am, the incident took place in the vicinity of Yellanda village in the Wardhannapet mandal of the district, they said, adding that three individuals perished at the scene.

Four people were hurt in the collision, and two of them were taken to the hospital but passed away while receiving care.

In the hospital, there are two patients being treated.

According to a police spokesman, the dead include honey vendors and the auto-rickshaw driver.

According to authorities, the event happened while they were on their way to harvest honey from the woodland region, which they used to do in order to sell it in cities.

The reportedly inebriated truck driver was detained, according to the authorities. The inquiry continued.
