INDIA VOTES 2024: Panchkula has 4.22 lakh voters, according to DEO

4,22,642 voters in the district would exercise their right to vote on May 25 during the election for the Ambala Lok Sabha constituency seat, according to District Election Officer Sushil Sarwan. There are 2,22,159 males, 2,00,458 women, and 25 voters of the third gender on the list, he said. He continued by saying that 6,362 voters between the ages of 18 and 19 are also on the list.

He said that voters who are qualified to vote must apply in person, and the office would accept applications for the addition of additional names until April 25.

424 polling places have been set up in the area, according to the district election officer. Of them, 218 are in Kalka, and 206 are in Panchkula.

In the Kalka constituency, according to the DEO, there were 1,96,227 voters: 1,02,743 males, 93,466 women, and 18 who identified as third gender. In the Panchkula constituency, there were 2,26,415 voters, consisting of 1,19,416 males, 1,06,992 women, and 7 voters who identified as third gender.

3,213 new voters in the 18–19 age group registered in the Kalka assembly constituency: 36,400 between the ages of 20 and 29; 47,174 between the ages of 30-39; 40,411 between the ages of 40 and 49; 31,065 between the ages of 50 and 59; 21,788 between the ages of 60 and 69; 10,999 between the ages of 70 and 79; and 5,177 above the age of 80.

Three hundred and ninety-nine votes, or 3,149, fall into the 18–19 age category in the Panchkula assembly constituency. The other voters are divided into the following age groups: 35,044 between 20 and 29; 50,101 between 30-39; 48,737 between 40 and 49; 37,991 between 50 and 59; 27,209 between 60 and 69; 16,281 between 70 and 79; and 7,903 voters over 80.

According to the DEO, 1,143 voters in the Kalka assembly and 1,156 voters in the Panchkula constituency are among the 2,299 handicapped voters in the district. He indicated that wheelchairs and pick-and-drop services for voters with disabilities will be provided by the district election office. He also said that voters over 85 will be permitted to cast their ballots from home for the first time.
