Indian Envoy at Capitol Hill Event: “Ramayan Is Bridge Across Geographies”

Washington: Ramadan educates individuals about the intricacies of human connections and the never-ending conflict between good and evil, according to Indian ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu, who made this statement on Wednesday.

The Indian ambassador stated, “Ramayan and its shared heritage across the Indo-Pacific.” He was speaking at an event named “Ramayana across Asia and Beyond” at the US Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. It is difficult to pinpoint when someone learns the teachings and stories from the Ramayan since they are handed down through the generations. As if one were born with them. The epic sheds light on the intricacies of interpersonal relationships, morality and politics, justice, sacrifice, dharma or obligation, and the never-ending conflict between good and evil. Among many other things, the Ramayan provides lessons for us to learn about each of these subjects.”

“The Ramadan also serves as a geographical bridge. Many nations in the Indo-Pacific region, including Thailand, Laos, Indonesia, and Cambodia, are familiar with the epic’s stories. Numerous cultures have incorporated their own cultural subtleties into their retellings, reimaginings, and inclusions of the epic in their artistic, literary, and religious traditions. Ambassador Sandhu said, “I have personally seen this power of Ramayan across frontiers.

The chief diplomat further said that the epic sheds light on the value of communication as well as the need of approaching partner nations with caution and strategy.

“The epic reminds us that despite our differences, we all have a desire for ethical standards and speaks to something fundamental—our shared humanity. All of us, including homeowners, families, legislators, and diplomats, can learn something from it. Deeper analysis of the epic reveals themes such as the value of communication, the need for a calculated and planned approach, and the need of collaborating with trustworthy and like-minded colleagues,” Ambassador Sandhu said.

The fact that the ceremony was planned in the midst of the current countdown to the magnificent Ram Temple in Ayodhya opening on January 22 lends importance to it.

In the historic temple town, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will preside over the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla.

In addition to dignitaries from many fields and political figures, invitations to the Pran Pratishtha event on January 22 have been sent to seers from all orders.

Officials from the temple said the event will take place over seven days beginning on January 16.
The sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Temple will see the enthronement of Ram Lalla at noon on January 22 by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

Beginning one week prior to the major celebration on January 16, Vedic rites will be performed for Ram Lalla’s Pran-Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya.

On January 22, Lakshmi Kant Dixit, a priest from Varanasi, will conduct the principal ceremonies of the Ram Lalla event. The Amrit Mahotsav will be celebrated in Ayodhya from January 14 to January 22. For the Indian people, Ayodhya—the birthplace of Lord Rama—has enormous spiritual, historical, and cultural importance.
