IPS officer’misbehaves’ with a lady at a bar, Pramod Sawant, the Goa chief minister, promises action

On Wednesday, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant promised the House that he would punish severely a senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer who had reportedly mistreated a female partygoer at a nightclub in the coastal state’s Baga-Calangute neighborhood.

According to reports, the event happened on Monday night.

 

MLA Vijai Sardesai of the Goa Forward Party brought up the situation in the Assembly and demanded that the officer be punished. Sardesai that the cop in question be fired.

 

The people who mistreat with ladies after consuming alcohol have come here (to Goa) for a picnic, according to Sardesai.

 

Chief Minister Sawant responded to him by stating that severe punishment will be taken in this case.

 

Sawant said, “Such incidents will not be tolerated.”

 

According to sources, the girl and her pals reportedly assaulted the officer after he mistreated her.

 

An internal investigation into this situation has been started by the Goa police department.

 

According to the sources, “Inquiry officers will ascertain the facts of the incident and on the basis of it further action will be taken.”
