ISL match: Kochi traffic calming

Traffic restrictions have been put in place by the Kochi City police in advance of Monday’s ISL match at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kaloor.

Fans traveling from Vypeen and Fort Kochi should park their cars on Chathiyath Road and use public transportation to get to the stadium. Vehicles entering from the areas of North Paravoor, Thrissur, and Malappuram should park at Aluva or along the Container Road. Supporters from the eastern areas, such as Perumbavoor, Kottayam, and Idukki, should leave their cars parked in Kakkanad and Tripunithura. Cars from the south, including Alappuzha, have to park at Vyttila and Kundannoor.

According to the police, large cars with fans inside will not be permitted to enter the city boundaries. Vehicles heading towards Edappally, Cheranalloor, Aluva, and Kakkanad after 5 p.m. should veer left at the Kaloor intersection and go via the BTS and Pottakuzhi-Mamangalam roads. Cars traveling the other way should use the Sahodaran Ayyappan Road and go towards the Vyttila junction.

Due to the Indian Super League game that is scheduled to take place at Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium in Kaloor on Monday, the Kochi Metro will run extra routes from JLN Stadium to SN Junction and Aluva. Additionally, metro services will run until 11.30 p.m. Additionally, the KMRL has announced a 50% ticket price reduction after 10 p.m.
