J-K Public Service Commission chairman to be nominated is IPS officer AK Choudhary

An official said on Sunday that AK Choudhary, an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from the 1991 batch, has been named chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission.

After serving as the chairman of the JKPSC for eighteen months, IAS official Satish Chandra resigned on November 1st of last year. Choudhary, Special Director General of Police, Crime, will take over for him.

“With great pleasure, the Lieutenant Governor of the University of Jammu and Kashmir has named AK Choudhary as the Public Service Commission Chairman for the UT of J&K. He will continue to serve as PSC Chairman until he becomes 62,” the person said, citing a General Administration Department directive.

The ruling states that Choudhary’s appointment, which is 59 years old, shall begin on the day he takes office.
