Karnal farmers report the most crops on the MFMB site during Charkhi Dadri

Farmers in the districts of Charkhi Dadri and Karnal are leading the state in crop registration on the “Meri Fasal Mera Byora” (MFMB) portal. These farmers have embraced the online approach to a great extent, as seen by their remarkable 76.82 percent and 74.58 percent crop registrations, which exceed the state average of 58.74 percent.

Officials claim that the portal assists farmers in receiving benefits under a number of programs, such as government procurement of their produce, incentives transferred under the “Mera Pani, Meri Virasat” scheme, the Direct Seeded Rice scheme, crop residue management, natural farming, Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana, and others.

There are 89,85,420 acres of arable land in the state; as of February 15, 8,73,349 farmers have registered 52,78,479 acres. The Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department’s statistics indicates that out of the 2,73,081 acres overall, 43,664 farmers in Charkhi Dadri have registered 2,09,786 acres. Out of the entire 5,15,801 acres, 51,634 farmers in the Karnal district have registered 3,84,673 acres. The data shows that Kurukshetra district is in third place with 72.44 percent of registration, closely followed by Mahindergarh at 70.94 percent, Bhiwani at 68.97 percent, Sirsa at 68.90 percent, Rewari at 64.25 percent, Panipat at 62.19 percent, Yamunanagar at 62.01 percent, Kaithal at 62 percent, Fatehabad at 61.37 percent, and Ambala at 61.19 percent.

According to Dr. Wazir Singh, Deputy Director, Agriculture, Karnal, “a mass awareness campaign has been conducted to make farmers aware of the registration of crop on the MFMB portal and they would avail benefits of all schemes after the registration.” According to him, registering crops on the site is essential to the execution of different agricultural programs.
