Karnataka Man Arrested for Derogatory Social Media Post Regarding Hindu God

A young person was detained by the Cyber, Economic Offenses and Narcotic (CEN) crime police in Mangaluru, Karnataka, for making offensive remarks against a Hindu deity on Instagram.

Mohammed Salman, 22, of Kulshekar in the city, has been named as the arrested person, according to police officials.

In the complaint filed at the CEN police station on Thursday, the accused has been charged under Sections 67 of the IT Act as well as Sections 153(A) and 505(2) of the Indian Penal Code.

Later, according to the sources, he was brought before the 7th JMFC court and remanded to judicial detention.
