Karnataka’s chief minister says the government is well-prepared to handle the situation despite torrential rains

Karnataka’s Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said the state administration has examined the risk-prone districts and is well-prepared to handle the scenario as rains batter much of the state. He urged everyone to abide by the rules established by the local government.

“Some areas of Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka may experience flash floods, according to a flash flood dispatch from the @Indiametdept. The Chief Minister tweeted, “The Government has examined the risk prone regions and is well equipped to face the concerns on the ground.

He said that District Commissioners have announced vacations for schools and institutions in the most susceptible areas to guarantee safety and that it is essential for all individuals to follow local government directives. In the meanwhile, the significant water intake has filled every reservoir to capacity. The majority of the state’s rivers are in spate.

The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange signal for the state’s coastal areas and the Malnad region due to the likelihood of moderate to heavy downpours and gusty winds in these areas.

The residents of a house whose wall fell in the Bantwal hamlet in the Dakshina Kannada district have relocated into the homes of their relatives. In Pudu village, three homes were damaged by rain-related occurrences.

Heavy rains entirely swept out the makeshift service road at Kalladka, which was a temporary structure during the continuing building of the National Highway. Residents and visitors have been warned not to visit beaches, rivers, or waterfalls or try to capture pictures or films there.

It is warned against fishermen going out to sea. According to reports, district and taluk level authorities are required to report to their central office and adhere to disaster management.
