Lok Sabha Elections 2024| “Monster, Thief”: Chandrababu Naidu receives a warning from the EC about “derogatory remarks” made against Chief Minister Jagan Reddy

According to ANI, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader N Chandrababu Naidu has received a warning from the Election Commission of India for allegedly uttering disparaging statements against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The notice was sent to TDP leader Naidu on Thursday for allegedly breaking the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) on March 31 while giving campaign speeches. He is accused of calling CM Jagan names like “Monster,” “Animal,” “Thief,” and other derogatory epithets.

Naidu has been given 48 hours to respond to the notice issued by the Chief Electoral Officer of Andhra Pradesh over the disparaging statements he made against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the leader of the YSR Congress Party.

Lella Appi Reddy, the state general secretary of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), and another person had submitted a complaint that led to the notice.

After looking over the speeches in issue, which were sent on a pen drive, the Election Commission concluded that they seem to be in violation of the Model Code of Conduct.

Andhra Pradesh will hold its Assembly and Lok Sabha elections on May 13 and June 4 for vote counting.
