Mamata Banerjee on the victory in the West Bengal Panchayat Election: “TMC Resides in People’s Hearts”

The West Bengali people were hailed by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday for the TMC’s overwhelming victory in the panchayat elections.

The zilla parishad, panchayat samiti, and gram panchayat elections, which make up the three tiers of the panchayat system, were still being counted.

TMC won 29,665 seats in gram panchayats and had the majority in 1,527 of them. With 8,021 seats won, the BJP was in the lead in 406 seats. While its ally Congress got 2,094 seats and was in the lead in 131 seats, the CPI(M) gained 2,472 seats and was leading in 239 seats.

“In the middle of rural Bengal, it’s TMC. I want to express my gratitude to the public for showing the TMC such love, devotion, and support. This election has shown that only the TMC has the support of the state’s people, Banerjee said in a Facebook post.

On July 8, votes were cast for more than 73,000 seats in the panchayat system.
