Man Arrested for Abuse in Maharashtra After Live-Partner Takes Her Own Life

After the suicide of his live-in spouse, a 52-year-old man from the Thane region of Maharashtra was arrested for abatement, an official said on Tuesday.

The lady resided in a hamlet close to Panvel in Navi Mumbai with the defendant. He said that the accused often hit her because he thought she wasn't being loyal to him.

According to the official, an investigation is ongoing. On March 26, the lady committed herself by plunging into a lake because she could no longer take the torment.
