Man Arrested In Thane For Sexually Abusing 12-Year-Old Daughter
An official said on Thursday that police have filed a complaint against a man from the Thane district of Maharashtra for allegedly abusing his 12-year-old daughter. The victim, a fifth-grader, lived in the Ambernath neighborhood with her parents.
According to a Kulgaon police station officer, the 40-year-old father reportedly assaulted his daughter while she was sleeping on January 15 and 22, and he subsequently threatened to harm her if she told anybody.
The victim told her mother about the incident, and her mother then reported it to the police. According to the official, the police filed a case against the accused on Wednesday in accordance with relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act as well as Indian Penal Code sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
An investigation was underway.
