At least 25 passengers were hurt, including two who needed medical assistance, after the bus they were traveling in in Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain district crashed after sliding down a culvert. Gujarat was the direction the car was traveling in at the moment.

The event, according to him, took place late on Saturday night.

An Indore to Rajkot bus carrying passengers from Ujjain crashed into a culvert on the Bhuki Mata Bypass, hurting almost 25 persons, two of them suffered serious injuries, Collector Kumar Purshottam told PTI over the phone.

According to the Ujjain collector, the injured were taken right away to the neighborhood hospital.

The bulk of the fatalities, according to the officials, had worshiped at Ujjain's well-known Mahakaleshwar temple.

The bus, which had around 35 passengers onboard, was being driven carelessly, according to early findings from the investigation, according to Omprakash Mishra, the City Superintendent of Police (CSP) for the Mahakal district.

He said that when the bus flipped over, the front wheels and engine separated from the rest of the bus.

He said that the accident happened at a notoriously dangerous blind corner, when the bus ran off the road and fell eight feet before turning turtle.

The bus driver, who is seeking treatment at the district hospital, has been reported for reckless driving, Mishra said.
