MP cabinet hails CM Mohan Yadav for BJP’s clean sweep in LS election

During its Tuesday meeting, the cabinet of Madhya Pradesh praised Chief Minister Mohan Yadav for the BJP’s resounding victory in the just-concluded Lok Sabha elections.

Senior Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya informed the media after the cabinet meeting, announcing that the BJP has won all 29 Lok Sabha seats in the state for the first time.

“CM Mohan Yadav spearheaded the BJP’s campaign as state unit leader, and the party won all 29 Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh. As a result, the MP’s cabinet praised him for this accomplishment on Tuesday, according to Vijayvargiya.

The minister also disclosed that the BJP secured around 61% of the vote in Madhya Pradesh during the Lok Sabha elections.

In addition to winning all 29 seats, the BJP also gained 207 Assembly seats in the elections. The BJP minister said, “The average winning margin in all 207 Assembly seats was almost 3.5 lakh votes per sector.

Madhya Pradesh has been ruled by the BJP since 2003, with the exception of 15 months. Amid allegations of anti-incumbency, the BJP won 163 out of 230 Assembly seats in the November 2023 Assembly elections.

Following the BJP’s overwhelming victory in the Assembly elections last year, CM Mohan Yadav, who took over from four-time previous CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, spoke at up to 139 public meetings and conducted 49 roadshows across Madhya Pradesh between March 16 and May 13.

Chouhan is now PM Modi’s cabinet’s Minister of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare after winning the Lok Sabha election from Vidisha.
