The Health Department has also said in the directive that emergency procedures should not be delayed due to the threat of Kovid-19. The department said in its directive, "No patient will be denied health care services and emergency procedures or treatment necessary to save lives will not be postponed based on suspicion of a covid-19 infection."
The directive stated, "It is our responsibility to provide immediate and appropriate treatment to all patients during the epidemic." Recently more than 100 cases of corona virus infection were reported in some non-Kovid hospitals like Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer (Cancer) Disease Center in Cuttack and SCB Medical College, Bhubaneswar. Sources in the health department said that in the last few days, there were complaints that patients were being refused to be admitted by hospitals despite serious health problems. In such a situation, this directive has been issued for hospitals.
