On Baisakhi, the SGPC will provide Khalsa flags to devotees

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has agreed to furnish flags for the 325th Khalsa Sajna Divas (Baisakhi) on April 13, in accordance with the Akal Takht’s directive for devotees to raise the Khalsa flag atop their locations.

In keeping with the spirit of the event, the Five High Priests instructed the Sikh community to install the Khalsa flag at their locations and chant the “Mool Mantra” for five minutes on April 13 at nine in the morning. This directive was given to them at their meeting at the Akal Takht on April 9.

“It has been decided to arrange Khalsa flags at all the historic gurdwaras that come under the direct control of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee,” said Partap Singh, secretary of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. The gurdwaras closer to the devotees’ homes might provide these flags to them for free. To commemorate the event, flags would also be raised at all of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee’s offices and establishments, he said.
