On May 18, Nadda will campaign at Fatehpur

At a news conference held in Fatehpur yesterday, former minister Rakesh Pathania said that JP Nadda, the president of the national BJP, would be supporting the BJP candidates in the state on May 18. Nadda will speak at an election rally in Rehan in the Fatehpur Assembly constituency in favor of Rajiv Bhardwaj, the BJP contender for the Kangra parliamentary seat. Later, he would speak at gatherings at Barotiwala and Chamba.

Pathania said that promises made before to the most recent Assembly elections had not been met by the Congress administration. “The Mukhya Mantri Sahara Yojana, which was started by the previous Jai Ram administration and provided Rs 3,000 per month to all qualified beneficiaries with severe or life-threatening illnesses, has even been canceled by the government. The government’s inability to pay overdue bills to the state’s accredited hospitals has affected even the Himcare Health Card program, which offers free health insurance coverage of Rs 5 lakh annually for families consisting of five members, he bemoaned.

Pathania added that the Congress high command nominated Anand Sharma after district leaders in Kangra and Chamba declined to run for the Lok Sabha. He went on to say that the state’s citizens were not idiots for choosing to pick a resident of Delhi. The whereabouts of Anand after the elections need to be disclosed by the Congress to the public.

He said that Rajiv Bhardwaj, the BJP candidate, would be readily reachable at his home in Nurpur.
