On the occasion of MG Ramachandran’s birth, PM Modi pays homage to him

MGR birth anniversary: On this day, January 17, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid respect to MG Ramachandran, the previous chief minister of Tamil Nadu, stating that he had a lasting influence on the development and expansion of the state.

“Today, on his birth anniversary, we remember and celebrate the life of the great MGR,” said Modi in a post on X. He was a visionary leader and a great icon of Tamil film. His movies captured hearts outside of theaters, especially the ones that focused on empathy and social justice.”

“He worked tirelessly for the welfare of the people as a leader and chief minister, leaving a lasting impact on Tamil Nadu’s growth and development,” he said. His creations never cease to inspire us.”

Actor Ramachandran, who achieved immense fame, was first affiliated with the DMK but later joined the AIADMK due to disagreements with M Karunanidhi.

After leading his party to victory in 1977, he served as prime minister until his death in 1987.
