“Our Vision Was Not Bharat-Centric After Independence Till Narendra Modi Changed It” : Amit Shah, Prime Minister of India

Ahmedabad (Gujarat): Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that, up until Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s appointment as Prime Minister, people who cherished the nation felt awful that its vision was not “Bharat-centric” after independence.

After independence, those who respected the name “Bharat,” loved the country, and knew about it felt sorry for it since, despite its freedom, the nation’s goals were not Bharat-centric but rather focused on other things. While attending the Pujya Purani Swami Smriti Mahotsav, which was organized by Swaminarayan Gurukul Vishwavidya Pratishthanam in Ahmedabad on Saturday, Shah said, “This was in the minds of many for several years.”

“Starting in 1950, all Bharatiya Janata Party activists set out to change this worldview. Till the day when Gujarat’s chief minister assumed the position of prime minister and the whole world was praising Bharat, many generations of our party members toiled to make it happen, Shah said.

Grateful for India’s accomplishments over the years, the Union Minister said that the nation is now headed toward being the leading producer of mobile phones and ranks third in terms of renewable energy and start-ups.

“Today, we are progressing towards being the top mobile phone manufacturer; we rank third as far as start-ups are concerned, third in renewable energy production, and no one doubts us now as far as security is concerned,” Shah said.

“We have been suffering for years as a result of Article 370, which gave rise to terrorism and secession. With a single pen stroke on August 5, 2019, Modi abolished Article 370,” Mr. Shah said.

“With surgical strikes and air strikes, we gave a message to those who used to mess with our borders not to take on our defense forces, otherwise, they will get a firm response from us, even within their homes,” Shah said in reference to the Narendra Modi government’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism. Narendra Modi’s stance on terrorism is zero tolerance.”

The Home Minister expressed gratitude to the Swami Narayan Sampradaya for its assistance in promoting the Sarva Sikhsha Abhiyan of Gujarat and said, “Several people have been enlightened by the Swami Narayan Sampradaya.” I have to concede that Gujarat’s Sarva Sikhsha Abhiyan would not have been complete if the gurukul of Swami Narayan Sampradaya had not operated in various regions of the state.”
