The north coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam are expected to see significant rainfall in a few isolated locations during the next five days, from July 17 to July 21.

Over the next five days, Yanam (a region of the Union Territory of Puducherry) and the south coast of Andhra Pradesh are expected to have isolated thunderstorms with lightning, according to the Met department.

Within the next 48 hours, a cyclonic circulation is predicted to develop over the northwest Bay of Bengal, according to a Met official’s statement in a press release. A monsoon trough at mean sea level is now travelling across Bikaner, Sikar, Orai, Sidhi, Ambikapur, Balasore, and from there southeast to east central Bay of Bengal, according to the Met department.

According to the official, it is extending up to 1.5 kilometers above mean sea level while the low pressure area across west Jharkhand and the neighboring states of north Chhattisgarh and north interior Odisha has diminished in intensity.

The accompanying cyclonic circulation, he pointed out, is now over south Jharkhand and the surrounding regions, rising up to 7.6 km above mean sea level and leaning in that direction.
