Owaisi said Congress is responsible for BJP staying in power for a long time in Gujarat

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has lashed out at the BJP as well as the Congress. Owaisi has held the Congress responsible for the BJP's continued power in Gujarat for a long time. At the same time, he denied that the role of his party AIMIM in the next month's Gujarat assembly elections 2022 would be to dent the votes of the Congress.

Owaisi's big allegation on BJP

Owaisi alleged that the BJP in Gujarat is trying to create an anti-Muslim discourse during the election campaign by raising issues like the Uniform Civil Code and the Mehrauli massacre. He said that BJP is raising such issues to create communal discourse. BJP is trying to bring Uniform Civil Code for Muslims and it will be Hindu Code for Hindus. She is trying to divide people. The AIMIM chief said that during the election campaign, BJP leaders talk about Aftab Poonawalla, accused of murdering live-in partner Shraddha Walker, for the same reason. He said that there are many examples of the ruthless cruelty of men toward women. That's why it is an issue of the sick mentality of men and it should be condemned. But, it is unacceptable to link this incident with religion.

AIMIM is not a vote-cut party

During the election campaign in the Kutch district, in an interview given to PTI-Bhasha, Owaisi denied the claim that AIMIM is a vote-cutting party. AIMIM is contesting two assembly seats in the Kutch district. Owaisi said why is the Congress leveling allegations against us? Is this not covering up your shortcomings? The BJP is in power in Gujarat for the last 27 years and the opposition is only Congress. What stopped Congress from defeating the BJP and why did it fail to defeat the BJP for nearly three decades? Congress should first answer this question.

I have not come to Gujarat to steal anyone's vote: Owaisi

Let us tell you that Congress has accused AAP and AIMIM of being the B-team of the BJP. Owaisi said that I should make it clear that I have not come here to dent anyone's vote. We have come here to counter the BJP. He said that his party is contesting only 13 out of 182 seats in the Gujarat Assembly. He said that Congress should win 169 seats and form the government. Secret pact in Congress-BJP

The Chief of AIMIM said that Congress has entered into an agreement with the BJP in Gujarat. Referring to the defeat of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the Amethi Lok Sabha seat in UP in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, he doubted whether it was a secret agreement. He said that if AIMIM is accused of joining hands with BJP, then we can also say the same about Congress. Was Rahul Gandhi's defeat in Amethi an example of a secret pact between the BJP and Congress? Because he contested from two seats and won one from Wayanad while losing in Amethi.

AIMIM entered the electoral battle for the first time in Gujarat

Owaisi said that like any other political party, AIMIM is also contesting elections in Gujarat. He said that initially, we had fielded candidates for 14 seats. But, one of our candidates joined the Congress. So now we are fighting over 13 seats. I have faith and hope of getting public support. AIMIM has entered the fray for the assembly elections in Gujarat for the first time. She is contesting in Muslim-majority areas, which have traditionally been Congress strongholds. When Owaisi was asked what would be his party's strategy if AIMIM wins some seats and a hung assembly emerges, he refused to answer saying it was a hypothetical question.
