A Special Court on Tuesday dismissed the bail plea of People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader Waheed Para (Waheed Para), saying the allegations against him were of "serious and heinous nature" and the evidence gathered so far Initial analysis shows that he was promoting terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir as a political leader. The court said that by looking at the CD file, it was found that on the pretext of a politician, the petitioner was playing an active role in the financial help of the terrorists and taking advantage of his position was also demanding arms and ammunition for payment. The court said that there has been a huge transaction in bank accounts and the matter is still being investigated and the facts will come out after the passage of time and completion of the investigation.
Mercury was arrested in a case related to terrorism
After being released from the National Investigation Agency-NIA court on January 9, Para was taken into custody by the Crime Investigation Department of Kashmir and was brought from transit custody in Jammu. The NIA arrested Para on 25 November in a separate case related to terrorism. Para's lawyer has claimed that his client won the District Development Council election while in the custody of the NIA.
