In the Nashik district of Maharashtra, the third phase of the Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi Expressway was officially opened to traffic on Monday.

An official announcement states that the 24.8 km route from Bharveer to Igatpuri would reduce the hour-long journey time from Thane and Mumbai to Shirdi. In the presence of Union Minister of State for Health Dr. Bharti Pawar and State Minister of Food and Civil Supplies Chhagan Bhujbal, State Public Works Department Minister Dada Bhuse officially opened the stretch.

In honor of the anniversary, a plaque was installed at Nandgaon Sado’s Igatpuri toll plaza.

The recently opened section goes through sixteen villages in the taluka of Igatpuri. According to the press release, the third phase consists of a viaduct, a bridge over the Darna River, eight minor bridges, nine overpasses, four interchanges at toll plazas, and fourteen toll booths.

As a result, 625 km of the 701 km long Hindu Hrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg highway are now accessible for traffic, and construction is now taking place on the remaining portion, which runs from Igatpuri to Aamne.
