PM Modi said - the scope of start up is huge; Today's Startups, Tomorrow's Multinationals

Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the Madhya Pradesh Startup Conclave via video conferencing. Speaking on the occasion, Modi said that as much as there is a proactive startup policy in the country, there is also a diligent startup leadership. Therefore the country is accelerating development with a new youthful energy. Startup portal has been launched in Madhya Pradesh today. The Prime Minister said that in 2014 there used to be around 300-400 startups in the country. Today, the world of startups in India has changed in a short span of 8 years. Today there are about 70 thousand startups in our country. Today India has the largest startup ecosystem in the world.

Modi said that the scope and expansion of start ups is huge. Startups give us simple solutions to tough challenges. We are seeing that today's start-ups are becoming tomorrow's multi-nationals. Today new start-ups are emerging in agriculture, retail business, health sector. Every Indian feels proud when we hear the world praising India's startup ecosystem, he added. Till 8 years ago, the word startup was a part of discussion in some corridors, today it has become a powerful medium to fulfill the dreams of ordinary Indian youth. The Prime Minister said that there has always been a urge to innovate in India, to solve problems with new ideas. But unfortunately, the encouragement, the support that our youth should have received in the earlier era, was not received.

The Prime Minister said that there was a need that the environment created by the IT Revolution should be channelised, given a direction, but this could not happen. We have seen that a whole decade in scams, in policy paralysis ruined the dreams of a generation of this country. He said that funding is also very important for start-ups, in this they were helped by the concrete policies of the government. A fund of funds has been created by the government, different platforms have been prepared to connect start-ups with the private sector. CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that we are committed to provide employment. We celebrate 'Employment Day' once every month. We have an infrastructure and investor-friendly policy. We are bringing a new policy for rice mills and electric vehicles.
