PO cited by court order

Phagwara: A proclaimed offender has been booked by the Bilga police for failing to show up for court. The offender has been identified as Jagjit Singh, a Mao Sahib village resident, according to Station House Officer (SHO) Lakhvir Singh. According to the SHO, the accused was declared a proclaimed criminal in a case brought under Sections 21 of the Mining Act, 379 and 411 of the IPC, and Phillaur Judicial Magistrate First Class Gur Mehtab Singh. Section 174-A (nonappearance in response to a proclamation under Section 82 of Act 2 of 1974) should be used to book him. Additional inquiries have been started and a case has been filed.

Man clutching bottles of alcohol

Phagwara: A man has been taken into custody by the Lothian Khas police, who have also charged him, his wife, and their kid with manufacturing and distributing illegal alcohol. The accused are Jiwan Singh, a Pipply village inhabitant, his wife Kulwant Kaur, and their son Sonu. According to investigating officer Bhajan Singh, he was found in possession of 10 bottles of illegally produced liquor from his own country, 70 kg of lahan (raw liquor), and brewing tools. A case has been filed against the suspects in accordance with Sections 61, 1, and 14 of the Excise Act. Sonu and Kulwant were able to leave the area. OC

PO is caught in the police network

Phagwara: A proclaimed offender (PO) who had been evading capture for a year has been apprehended by the Nurmahal police. The accused has been identified as Kulwinder Singh, also known as Gogi, an Ajtanni village inhabitant, according to investigating officer (IO) Amrik Singh. In 2020, a case of selling unlawful liquor was reported, and in 2023, he was labeled a person of interest. OC

The Phagwara girl wins accolades

Phagwara: Today was a historic day for the locals, especially at Guru Ravi Dass Institution, because a GRD College alumna from Bhularai village named Ravinder Rai passed the PCS judicial exam. Along with Dr. Neelam Sethi, Director of Education, GRD Trust Chairman UC Saroya honored Ravinder Rai, who has been a role model for pupils. 9,560 kids are infected with polio.

Phagwara: During the three days of the Pulse Polio Immunization campaign here, which ended on Tuesday, 9,560 children in the 0–5 age range received polio drops. In Phagwara City, 50 polio booths have been set up by the government, according to pediatrician and medical officer Dr. Naresh Kundra. According to Dr. Kundra, 4,292 children received drops at these booths on March 4 and 3,022 children received drops on March 3. On Tuesday, the last day of the campaign, 2,246 youngsters received drops in public locations such as the bus stop and train station.
