Pune Metro: Bund Garden-Ramwadi Extension Trials to Start This Month

As Maha Metro gears up to begin first testing by the end of this month, the long-awaited completion of the Pune Metro’s Aqua Line, from Bund Garden to Ramwadi, is entering its last stage.

On this crucial length, the elevated viaduct and the signaling equipment have achieved their highest levels of readiness, allowing testing to start.

The segment between Bund Garden and Ramwadi on the Vanaz to Ramwadi Metro line, sometimes referred to as the Aqua Line, completes the picture. Once this section is operational, the public will have access to the whole 15.7 kilometer Metro line, drastically altering Pune’s transportation system.

After the stunning premiere of two crucial segments in August, Maha Metro is still committed to finishing the remaining work on two metro lines before the year is over. The devoted crew, who are committed to provide the public a smooth and effective metro service, is actively pursuing this goal.

We are working hard to finish all the work up to Ramwadi by November, said a top Maha Metro official. The expansion of the Metro service to Nagar Road, which would link significant neighborhoods like Yerawada and Kalyaninagar to the city’s center zones, has already garnered requests from commuters.

METRO IN PUNE: Routes

The Purple Line, a north-south corridor, and the Aqua Line, an east-west corridor, together make up the Pune Metro Rail Project. Together, they have a combined astounding length of 33 km and 30 well planned stops.

The majority of the elevated tracks of the Aqua Line, which runs between Ruby Hall and Ramwadi at the moment, are elevated. This Metro line provides commuters with a practical and quick way to go to the eastern parts of the city. It serves busy districts like Yerawada, Kalyaninagar, and significant sections of Nagar Road.

This important project’s last phase is under intense pressure to be completed. Teams are putting a lot of effort into repairing the viaduct between Bund Garden and Ramwadi and building overhead traction and signaling systems at the stops.

Additionally, it is projected that the Purple Line’s Civil Court to Swargate Metro segment, which is currently under construction, would be fully operational by December. With the completion of this project, the Metro’s overall coverage will extend from its present 24 km to an amazing 33 km, allowing travelers to go easily between Vanaz and Ramwadi and PCMC and Swargate.

Line-3 is also being planned in addition to the present network, under the direction of the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority and in collaboration with Tata-Siemens. The Hinjawadi IT park and numerous other growing regions will be served by this 23 km completely elevated network, considerably improving the daily commute for a sizeable section of Pune’s workforce.
