Rajasthan and Haryana have never agreed on water matters: Kiran

Kiran Choudhary, a Tosham MLA and former minister, voiced his disapproval of Rajasthan’s plan to get water from the Yamuna River today.

Regarding the water problem, she added Rajasthan has always been against Haryana. “Rajasthan withheld its fair share of water from Haryana and constructed a dam on the river that flows into Mahendragarh. However, it is not in the best interests of the people of Haryana that the government of Haryana has inked a memorandum of understanding with Rajasthan to provide water from the Yamuna river.

Speaking with reporters, the MLA questioned, “Why has a water deal been negotiated with Haryana while Rajasthan opposes them everywhere? If water delivery via pipeline construction is to occur, it ought to reach Haryana’s “dark zones.” She continued by saying that her attempt to draw attention to the problem of giving Rajasthan access to water was turned down.

According to her, the water issue is becoming worse in Bhiwani, Mahendragarh, Charkhi-Dadri, and Hisar, which are in southern Haryana. “While an agreement is being reached to deliver water to Rajasthan, no action is being done by the government about the provision of water in these regions. The idea to build a pipeline to provide Rajasthan more water is ridiculous. The Haryana people’s irrigation demands should be satisfied by the water that runs off during the monsoon, the speaker said.
