Senthil Balaji, a minister of Tamil Nadu, was hospitalized

Arrested V Senthil Balaji, a minister for the state of Tamil Nadu, was hospitalized to a public hospital on Monday.

He was detained by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a money laundering scheme, and is now being held at the Puzhal jail.

Police authorities said without more explanation that he was sent from the jail to the hospital.

The minister was detained by the ED on June 14 and a judge ordered that his detention remain in place until July 26. Senthil Balaji had cardiac bypass surgery recently at a private hospital after being hospitalized after his arrest.

The police filed FIRs in the cash-for-jobs fraud, and the ED then recorded the Enforcement Case Information Report. Senthil Balaji was subsequently detained by the ED in a money laundering case related to the scheme.
