Separate Tenders To Be Floated For The Hiring Of DEOs At All MCD-Managed Hospitals Mayor

The recruitment of data entry operators (DEOs) at all MCD-run hospitals would be done via separate bids, according to orders from Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi on Friday.

At a review session with top physicians and chief medical officers from hospitals affiliated with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), she made this statement.

The MCD stated in a statement that the mayor asked about the services offered by the MCD at its hospitals as well as the availability of medications, test facilities, ultrasound, dialysis, X-ray, and MRI facilities, among other things.

Doctors advised the mayor that radiologists were in limited supply and that MRI capabilities “were not available in most of the hospitals”.

Additionally, the need of ultrasound devices was emphasized for Hindu Rao Hospital, Mrs. Girdhari Lal Maternity Hospital, Kasturba Hospital, and Mata Gujri Hospital.

There is a “huge shortage of staff, nursing staff, data entry operators, MTS (multi-tasking staff), sanitation staff at hospitals, and Hindu Rao Hospital is operating with only 30% staff, which has put an additional burden on existing staff,” doctors warned the mayor, according to the statement.

In addition, it added that during the discussion, the need of building a new OT block at Swami Dayanand Hospital was emphasized.

at addition, the mayor issued a directive that “separate tenders should be floated for the recruitment of DEOs in all hospitals as per the requirement so that the work can run smoothly” due to the issue of a lack of data entry operators.

Oberoi also enquired about the preparations taken for dengue testing and treatment as well as the dengue cases recorded at hospitals.

Security personnel “misbehave at Girdhar Lal and Kasturba Hospital” and “do not behave properly” with patient family, according to Deputy Mayor Aale Mohammad Iqbal.

He noted that these institutions’ restrooms were “very dirty” and that there is “no proper sitting arrangement” for patient attendants.
