Smriti Irani of the BJP criticizes Rahul Gandhi, a Congress MP, for “changing families.”

On Thursday, BJP leader and Union Minister Smriti Irani, the party’s nominee for Amethi, the erstwhile stronghold of the Gandhi family, attacked Congress MP Rahul Gandhi for “changing families.”

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Smriti, who beat Gandhi in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, charged Rahul of fleeing Amethi, which the Gandhis of the Congress party have long referred to as a family.

“Who modifies families? who flees their family. Rahul Gandhi did not initially choose Wayanad in 2019. Because he fled Amethi, he decided on Wayanad. Why did the Gandhis leave Amethi if they considered Amethi to be their family? asked Smriti, who was in Wayanad today, about the BJP candidate and state unit president K Surendran’s nomination file. K Surendran is running in Wayanad against Rahul and Annie Raja of the CPI.

Additionally, Smriti criticized Rahul for “attempting to conceal the flags of SDPI, the political front of the outlawed group PFI.”

Smriti said that Rahul Gandhi was attempting to conceal the SDPI flags after receiving their backing at Wayanad, while Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan asserted that Gandhi ought to have the guts to publicly accept the SDPI’s support.

Rahul will desert Wayanad, according to Smriti, just as he did Amethi.

The Gandhi family has held Amethi for decades, notably in 2004, 2009, and 2014, when Rahul served as an MP. The Congress has not yet announced a candidate for this seat.

Smriti defeated Rahul in Amethi by over 50,000 votes.

In the fifty years that the Gandhi family owned the blood bank, Amethi did not even have one, according to Smriti today.
