So far 126 doctors have died this year from covid-19, IMA is getting information about the vaccination of those who lost their lives.

Indian Medical Association (IMA) has said that 126 doctors have died so far this year due to Kovid-19. The Doctors' Association has said that this year, the status of vaccination of doctors who died of infection is being ascertained. According to the IMA, 736 doctors died across the country from Corona infection last year. The central government started vaccination for health care workers on 16 January.

According to the News18 report, Dr. Ravi Wankhedkar said that the Union Health Ministry should keep the data of deaths of Kovid-19 affected or health workers in different states, along with their vaccine status. He said, "Unfortunately the government is not doing such work. So now IMA is trying to collect data. "

According to Health Ministry data, till now more than 16 crore vaccine doses have been put in the country. In this, 94.7 lakh health care workers have done the first dose and 63.5 lakh have administered both the vaccine doses. The IMA has created the Kovid Martyrs Fund (Kovid Martyr Fund), under which more than Rs 1.6 crore has been given to the families of doctors who lost their lives to infection.

Most doctors died in Bihar

According to IMA data, 49 doctors died the most in Bihar this year. In the last few days, cases of Kovid infection have increased rapidly in Bihar. The state has been the least affected in the case of death due to infection. Since the onset of the epidemic last year, 2,926 people have died in Bihar so far. Recently, the IMA also appealed to the Bihar government to impose lockdown in the state.

At the same time, more than 10,000 deaths have occurred due to Kovid-19 in 6 states, which include Maharashtra, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Karnataka and West Bengal. In these most affected states - 9 deaths due to infection this year in Maharashtra, 8 in Delhi, 6 in Tamil Nadu, 5 in West Bengal and 1 doctor died in Uttarakhand. In February this year, the IMA had misquoted the Central Government's data on the death of doctors. The government had said that 167 doctors died of Kovid last year. However, the IMA said that 734 doctors lost their lives due to infection.
