Students take their hand at Malayali delicacies in support of Ek Bharat

The Prayas Club of Government Senior Secondary School, Sidhpur Ghat, in the Jawali subdivision of the Kangra district, sponsored the “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” event, which included a culinary display on the school grounds on Wednesday.

Since the start of the new school year, the club, which is made up of students in grades 6 through 12, has been hosting these events with the goal of teaching students about the cuisine and cultures of various states.

Members of the club showcased recipes that are well-liked in Kerala and Himachal Pradesh.

Sambar, Dosa, Idli, Upma, Rasam, Dahi Bhalla, Coconut Chutney, Pani Puri, and banana chips were among the popular Malayali foods served.

The state’s cuisine includes Telia Mah Veth (Patrodu), Bhaturu, Babru, Rice, Sepu Badi, Dahi Bhalla, and Lasuda. With the help of their instructors, the students prepared certain meals at home and others in the classroom.

Students also presented cultural acts such as Natti and Bharatanatyam on this occasion.

Subhash Chandra, the principal of the school, was the event’s major guest.

Students showed a strong enthusiasm in taking part in these activities, according to the principal.

He said that an essay competition on Kerala’s politics, geography, social legacy, and culture was held last month and that a group of students will visit the state as part of the “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” initiative at the conclusion of current academic year.
