Sukhpal Khaira: The AAP government’s massive illegal mining

Sukhpal Khaira, the head of the Congress, said today that widespread illicit mining was occurring across the state.

He presented the Secretary (Mining) with an ADGP intelligence report on illicit mining locations on February 22 in order to support his assertions.

According to Khaira, there is illicit mining in the districts of Tarn Taran, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Patiala, and Moga. He also disclosed information on communities and individuals engaged in illicit mining.

Khaira has asked the AAP administration for a white paper on the subject as well as an action taken report regarding the data that the ADGP presented. “How is the state administration going to continue saying that it has suppressed illicit mining?
