The Chief Minister of Maharashtra approves the water release from Koyna Dam

Eknath Shinde, the chief minister of Maharashtra, decided to send water to Karnataka a few days after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah wrote to him pleading for the release of water from the Koyna dam to the Krishna River.

According to PWD Minister Satish Jarkiholi, water from the Krishna River will soon be released by Maharashtra’s Water Resources Department. In addition, he went to Raibag taluk on Monday to see how high the Krishna River was, and he reported that the state administration was exploring every option to guarantee that all the places affected by the drought had access to water. He was grateful for Siddaramaiah’s efforts in securing the state’s release of water from the Koyna dam.
